Setup and Installation of ViaVideo
Equipment 
Note: Before installing,
please make sure that the computer you intend to use will be external to any
firewalls. You will likely experience problems if you are operating from behind
a firewall. You may want to contact your network administrator and ask for an
external IP address.
1. Unpack all included equipment from shipping container.
2. After placing the included CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive in your system, install the required software by double-clicking the Autorun/CD-ROM icon under My Computer.
3. When prompted, click "Continue" to proceed through the installation process.
4. Click the radio button to accept the license agreement. Click "Next" to continue the installation process.
5. Click "Next" when prompted. Then, click "Install".
6. When the dialog window indicates "Finished" (that the installation process has completed), click "OK".
7. Connect the included USB cable and audio input cable to the PC. Unit will "autodetect" and then you should see flags for different languages and a small video window in the lower left side of screen.
8. Click "Next", enter the requested user information and click "Next".
9. You should see a ViaVideo conference status to indicate all is working.
10. Click "Next" and at the Address Book Setup, uncheck all checkboxes.
11. Click "Next" - adjust volume level with ringing tone and slider.
12. Click "Next" - select proper audio input and you should hear a test tone.
13. Click "Next", select language, click "Finish" Install done.
Registering With SFA's Gatekeeper
1. a. Double-click on Polycom
icon on desktop.
b. Click on blue "i" in top left
corner.
c. Click on "setup" button
d. Click
on "H.323" button.
e. Click on "Gatekeeper" button
f. Click
on "specify" button
2. Enter 144.96.192.188:1719
3. Click on "Home"
button.
*You will get
an error if it does not register.
Placing Call
1. Enter:
621234
This should connect you to our conference, if
you have registered with our gatekeeper.
*If testing your
equipment, please phone (936) 468-2774 to request a test call outside of our
normal class time.
