Course Description
AED 551 is a study of the major aspects of school design, maintenance and construction of safe school facilities as they relate to the quality instruction of students and to the role of the Texas school district superintendent to assure this quality.

Course Prerequisites
Admission to the Superintendent program

Course Format and Participation Requirements
The format for this course includes scheduled readings and lectures with online discussion postings of readings, email, discussion boards, and assignments.  In addition, students are required to attend three class meetings.   The typical time for success in this course is about 4-6 hours per week.

Face-to-Face Meeting Requirements
There will be three class meeting times on campus.  Check the course bulletin for times.

Course Assignments and Assessment
The course will be graded based on the quality of assignment completion as well as participation in discussions online and in class.

Effort Expected
This is a three credit hour course.  You should expect to work 6 hours per week on readings, assignments, discussions.
