Description
Virtual
Team Communication, a graduate-level business communication seminar, is designed
to develop an understanding of
communicating in a virtual team environment and to apply concepts of virtual
communication through a virtual team process.

Course Format and
Participation Requirements
This course may consist of team communication, text readings, discussions, journals, quizzes, chats and online exams. Scheduled deadlines will be utilized.
On-campus or
Face-to-Face Meeting Requirements
This online course will include two required online chats as well as two required face-to-face meetings. Students are required to attend two of the three scheduled chats. The dates for the required online chats are Monday, June 2, from 9:00-10:00 p.m.; Monday, June 16, from 9:00-10:00 p.m. and Monday, June 30, from 9:00-10:00 p.m.
The dates for the required face-to-face meetings are Monday, June 9, 2008, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Monday, June 23, 2008, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The face-to-face meetings will be held in Room 224 of the McGee Business Building.
Participation in the first face-to-face required meeting will be worth 50 points. Participation in the second face-to-face meeting will be worth 30 points. If a student is unable to attend the second face-to-face meeting, he or she may replace those 30 points by attending all three of the chats.
Course Assessment
A scale of 90% or higher for
A; 80% or higher for B; 70% or higher for C will be used to determine the
course grade.

Technical Requirements
for the Course
Other than
the minimum technical requirements for any course, students
will need access to Word and Powerpoint software and Adobe Acrobat software
to read pdf files. Students may need to download Java software and/or make other adjustments to their computers in order to participate in chats.
