This course continues the study and application of the writing process and the skills of writing with a focus on the forms of argumentative writing and on research methods, such as gathering, evaluating, summarizing, synthesizing, and citing source information.Textbook Requirements

Course Prerequisites
Completion of SFA 131: Rhetoric and Composition with a C or higher.Course Format and Participation Requirements
The format for this course includes scheduled assignments and deadlines, offline reading assignments and projects, online readings and participation using web pages, email, discussion boards, and chat. The course also requires a scheduled face-to-face meeting as indicated below. To be successful in this course, the typical student should plan to spend at least 12-15 hours per week working on this course.On-campus or Face-to-Face Meeting Requirements
This course will have a face-to-face meeting at the beginning of the semester. Details will be emailed via mySFA one week prior to the start of term.Course Assessment
This course will have a variety of assignments. All assignments will be graded for proper format, soundness of content, attention to rhetorical context, resourcefulness, grammar, and mechanics.All assignments must be completed in the order in which they are given. Also, students must complete all of the class assignments in order to pass this course. All work should be completely original.
Effort Expected
This is a 3 credit-hour course. You should expect to work 4 to 5 hours per week for each credit hour. To be successful in this course you should expect to spend about 12 hours a week on readings, assignments, discussions, and other activities. This estimate is for the fall and spring semesters; if the course is offered during the summer, more time per week may be necessary.Technical Requirements for the Course
