Course Description
An overview of basic business functions including accounting, business law, communication, computer technology, economics, finance, marketing, management, and office systems.

Textbook Requirements
Pride, Hughes, and Kapoor, Business, 8th Edition, Boston: Houghton Mifflin Co., 2005 

Course Prerequisites
None.

Course Format and Participation Requirements
The format for this course includes scheduled assignments and deadlines, online participation using discussion boards. The course includes scheduled online quizzes and exams. All exams are online.  To be successful in this course, the typical student should plan to spend a minimum of 10 hours per week working on this course.

On-campus or Face-to-Face Meeting Requirements
None.  

Course Assessment
Students will be assessed through online Discussion postings, online timed quizzes, and online timed exams.

Effort Expected
This is a 3-credit-hour course.  To be successful in this course you should expect to spend a minimum of 10 hours a week on readings, assignments, and discussions, and tests and quizzes.
