Course Description
This course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts of measurement with emphasis upon the utility and limitations of various test and assessment procedures. This course is in alignment with the COE Conceptual Framework. The following link will allow you to access the link:

NoneCourse Format and Participation Requirements
The format for this course includes scheduled assignments and deadlines, offline reading assignments, online readings and participation using web pages, email, discussion boards, and chat. The course includes scheduled online quizzes and exams. All exams are online. To be successful in this course, the typical student should plan to spend at least 6-8 hours per week working on this course. If necessary, a student may be required to attend 1-2 face-to-face meetings.

Exams: Six exams will be given to assess students’ understanding of course content. Exams 1-5 will be over 2 learning modules/chapters worth of material. Exam #6 is comprehensive. Exams will be taken via WebCT. If a student does not take an exam during the intended time period, he or she will have to prepare a 10 page research paper over a topic related to the assessed learning modules. The research paper must be written using APA format.
CHATS: Students will work collaboratively in groups throughout the semester. All members are required to actively participate in this process. Students must access the course weekly and follow the course timeline for assignment and exam deadlines.
Effort Expected
This is a 3-credit-hour course. You should expect to work 2 to 3 hours per week for each credit hour. To be successful in this course you should expect to spend about 6-8 hours a week on readings, assignments, discussions, and other activities. This estimate is for the fall and spring semesters; if the course is offered during the summer course, more time per week may be necessary.Technical Requirements for the Course
